Camp Tanda

big bear campLocated on 8 ½ acres, Camp Tanda was established in 1947 by a group of Christian men and women who were members of the Churches of Christ.  Since that time the camp has been used by many non-profit groups such as schools, scouts, church organizations, as well as family reunions.

The camp is overseen by a Board of Directors which is dedicated to providing a place where people can come together for recreation, fellowship, and worship in a peaceful, special setting.

Camp Tanda rents to only one group at a time on a first come, first served basis.  Call today to check availability and pricing!

Camp Facilities

big bear campsitesCamp Tanda is equipped with a large meeting room called the Lodge. Especially during the winter months, the Lodge is used for meetings and dining. The Lodge contains tables and couches, a large fireplace, games, as well as a television, DVD and VHS player.  A fully equipped kitchen is attached to the Lodge.

The camp has two large dormitories for sleeping. One is located above the showers and restrooms. The other building is also dorm style with restrooms. All buildings are heated.  During the summer months we have nine tent structures that are wood sided with a floor and roof.  These are also available for sleeping. We have two "A" frames, each with a queen-sized bed, small desk and closet.

Camp Tanda also has an outdoor fire ring and stage with outside lights. The area immediately outside the Lodge is covered in the warmer months for outdoor dining. Two gas barbeques are provided.  Near the fire ring is another covered area for meetings, classes or worship services.

Camp Tanda has half-court basketball, horseshoes, volleyball, ping pong tables, two tetherballs and an enclosed area with swings for small children.

We Need Your Help!

Camp Tanda is in process of improving the camp through a major maintenance campaign. However, we need your help to make this happen. The Church of Christ Foundation agreed to match every dollar we raise, up to $12,500. But we only have until December 31, 2011, to make this happen. So if you donate $100 to Camp Tanda, the camp will receive $200 in funds. Please help by clicking on the donate button on our web page or send a check directly to Camp Tanda. All contributions are tax deductible and contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated.
